The Dead Will Tour in 2009

Ξ January 5th, 2009 | → 0 Comments | ∇ The Dead |

The Dead will tour in nineteen cities!

Apparently the rumoured artistic differences between original band members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann have been worked out thanks to the benefit concert they performed in Pennsylvania for Barack Obama back in October.

The result: the band is back together for a nineteen city tour, beginning April 12 in Greensboro, N.C.

The band,  no longer called the Grateful Dead will be known as simply “the Dead”.

I applaud the decision. Since Jerry’s death in ‘95, to me, the group was little more than a skeleton crew. With the name change and the addition of Warren Haynes on lead guitar, and Jeff Chimenti on keyboards, the Dead are reborn.
